Winter and spring are historically slower periods for many of our customers, making it an ideal time to ensure your packaging equipment is in top shape before the busier summer months. One of the best ways to do that is with Ossid’s preventive maintenance kits.

Designed specifically for machines in our tray overwrapping and weigh price labeling (WPL) categories, these kits contain replacement parts that are crucial for minimizing unplanned downtime and maintaining consistent operation. High-wear components, such as bearings, belts, and blades, are typically included, allowing customers to replace the critical parts at the proper intervals. Depending on the application, kits can be tailored for monthly, quarterly, or six-month service intervals. This provides a structured replacement program for hardware and wear items before failure occurs.
Installing our maintenance kits at the recommended intervals is essential for maintaining package integrity and preventing unscheduled downtime. Running equipment with worn or outdated hardware can lead to belt grooves, film wrinkling, slippage, and improper indexing – all issues that compromise package quality and can lead to more extensive, costly repairs.
These kits are especially valuable for companies with less experienced maintenance teams. Each kit comes with easy-to-follow instructions and helpful tips to guide staff through the process. In turn, technicians gain a deeper understanding of how these parts influence overall machine performance.

Maintenance kits are included in all Preventive Maintenance Service Contracts, but they can also be added at any point in the machine’s life.
A great way to get started is by scheduling an onsite machine evaluation with one of our trained Ossid service technicians.
Being proactive with equipment maintenance offers tremendous advantages. Taking the right steps now will help prevent costly, unplanned downtime later.
